last saturday, julia turned 4. we did not have a party for her, instead, we decided to celebrate her birthday someplace else. incidentally, july 11th was also hubby’s family day at his office. so, we thought it best to join in the fun along with other kids and families.
like the previous year, the hsbc family day is a day long event with lotsa games, booths, food, and sights for everyone. it’s a great avenue for both kids to meet new friends. kobe had fun trying everything and anything under the sun.
julia, who just came from the hospital the day before, was kinda reserved. but she was back to her usual bubbly self as the afternoon went on. she did enjoy all the kidie games and the “story from the musical suitcase”.
even the heavy rains did not dampen my little girl’s spirits. she got her wish: to be a princess on her birthday. just look at that smile on her face! she really loves the crown and sitting on a throne. hahahahaha!
as for me, im ecstatic. i think i’ve succeeded in teaching the kids the value of simplicity and spotaniety. birthdays are more than parties. it’s about FUN. at the end of the day, julia’s words overwhelmed hubby and me: “thanks mom and dada, for the best birthday ever!”
