Wakeboard Destination: CamSur

For most of us, summer means swimming in beaches, lazing around some poolside, or just island hopping.  But to sport enthusiasts and thrill seekers, summer spells a diffrent thing.  There’s a place in (my hometown) Bicol that’s been slowly but surely gaining popularity among tourists and locals alike.  Just 15 to 20 minutes away from the City of Naga, you will find a watersports haven, popularly known as CamSur.

CWC or Camarines Sur Watersports Complex is a watersports park designed for wakeboarding and waterskiing.  The facilty boasts of a man-made oval lagoon that has a six point cable tow system.  With such system, wakeboarders are not being pulledby a jet ski nor a boat, but by a cable found in the lagoon.   There are a lot of things to do and enjoy in the park.  Water buffs can also try their hand at kneeboarding and wakeskating.  There’s a big pool in the area, cabanas, and restos.

The best part is, the price.  Accomadations are really very affordable.  Hubby said that you can get a room for four people for P1,200.  And the food, not only cheap, its really good too.  No wonder a lot of social and showbiz events hold programs there.

No, I haven’t been to the place but we are planning to on September, when I make my annual homecoming, just  in time for the Penafrancia Festival.  It was Hubby and a couple of his buddies who saw and conquered the turf.  I believe they had so much fun.

      hi alex,

if you’re coming from legaspi, you have to take a bus going to naga. it’s about an hour or an hour and a half ride. once you’re in naga, it is another short trip to camsur. just ask any public transport in the city. travel is probably 30 minutes.

      happy wake boarding!
